Let's face it: In the whirlwind of preparations preceding the big day, the last thing you want to worry about is where your guests will spend the night. But after out-of-towners experience a glorious wedding and festive ceremony, the last thing they want to worry about is returning to less-than-satisfactory accommodations to recover from the revelry. You can take care of your guests by choosing a great hotel in a location that's convenient to the wedding activities.

Do your homework. At one recent Columbus wedding, guests traveled across several time zones to attend: The bride and groom were living in England, his parents were coming from Germany, the best man was from Spain and the other groomsmen were from Scotland. Wanting to make sure the guests had first-class accommodations, the bride's mother drove around town exploring hotels and comparing prices and amenities, finally settling on a nice hotel near the family's home, the church and the reception site.
Double dip. Many couples look for hotels that can accommodate some or all of the wedding activities in addition to overnight guests, to make things as convenient as possible for out-of-towners. At some weddings, even local guests take advantage of the discounted hotel rates so they don't have to worry about driving home after the festivities.
Book 'em. If you overbook a block of rooms and reservations are trickling in to the hotel, the likelihood is that some of those rooms will be released to other guests. For truly large parties, make sure your guests are keenly aware of the cutoff date so they can reserve while rooms are still available.
