Katie Piper and Jonathan Brinkley
September 1, 2012
The Brinkleys’ wedding day was a personalized affair from start to finish. They married at the groom’s parents’ homestead in Heath. Atop the tables sat antique blue Mason jars filled with dahlias and cosmos from the garden. Hay bales covered in family quilts provided seating around the stage where the bride joined her father’s band for a few numbers. “The music, decorations, table flowers, landscaping, print work … most everything at our wedding was handmade,” Katie says. “I wanted a sense of family at our wedding that would convey the closeness of our relationship with friends and family. And I also have a bit of an affinity for anything homemade.” Guests enjoyed City Barbeque, a homemade dessert table (complete with miniature cheesecakes, assorted pies and banana pudding), craft beer and a live band.
