Kathryn Conrad and Andrew Maynor
July 28, 2012
Though they live in Texas, Kathryn and Andrew are Buckeyes at heart. They became friends as students at Ohio State, then started dating after they both moved to Houston. During a return trip to Columbus, Andrew asked Kathryn to take a walk across Ohio State’s Oval. They ended up beside a statue outside the library, where he dropped to one knee and proposed. She said yes. “It’s a good thing, too, because after putting the ring on her finger, I pointed to the upper floors of the library where our closest family and friends stood, smiling and waving,” Andrew says. Wedding guests took home boxes of buckeye candies as favors, and the newlyweds took home their favorite gift: a framed picture of the statue where Andrew proposed, “to remind us of the amazing journey we started there,” says the bride.
