Real Wedding: Suzie Kirch & Jarrett Helming

September 14, 2013

“Neither of us remembers the first time we ‘met,’ but I remember the first time I noticed him—I made all sorts of excuses to keep running into him,” Suzie says of Jarrett, with whom she worked during a hospital internship in Pontiac, Michigan. He proposed in the summertime while the two were vacationing in Venice. On a gondola for two, “my best friend promised to spend the rest of his life with me,” she adds. “Does life get any more romantic?” The two read personal vows during their ceremony at Liberty Presbyterian and, at the reception, received a time capsule filled with letters from friends and family.

Real Wedding: Nikki Hollingshead & Cody Dysert

May 17, 2014

Nikki and Cody tied the knot in an informal ceremony at Schiller Park in German Village. Post-ceremony, the couple celebrated with friends and family at Big Room Events in the Brewery District and dined on a casual spread of sandwiches, chips and homemade pastas and salads. Simplicity inspired the day, and the groom provided the tunes, while much of the decor was DIY.

Real Wedding: Laura Hurst & Zachary DiMarco

May 10, 2014

When Zac took her to Mohican State Park Gorge in Loudonville, Laura had no idea a proposal was in store. “I thought we were on a ride to check Zac’s deer trail camera on his farm,” she says. “But the unexpected pit stop at Mohican was an awesome surprise.” The two—who met at high school track practice— were married at Sunbury United Methodist Church. Laura walked down the aisle with her brother and adorned her rose bouquet with a locket honoring her late father. Guests received buckeye candies in honor of Zac’s Ohio State law-school graduation, which took place the week prior.
